Chicago Fire Marine & dive operations
The Mission of the Chicago Fire
Department’s Marine & Dive
Operation Unit is to handle all fires,
search & rescue operation and EMS
Emergencies in the great City of
Chicago.
This year has been one of the
busiest seasons for the Fire
Department. COVID 19 has been in
the forefront of everyone’s minds
and the safety of residents in
Chicago comes first. The Chicago
Marine & Dive Operations Unit,
as well as the rest of the Fire
Department, has a proud tradition
of serving Chicago 24 hours a day,
365 days a year. The hard work of all
the men and women of Chicago Fire
Department in this extraordinary
time shows how dedicated we are to
the protection and safety of our city.
The Fire Department stands ready
at all times to assist anyone in need.
In the spring of 2021 the Marine &
Dive Operation Unit will be adding
a new vessel to our resources. In
addition to this new vessel, training
will continue. Most recently we have
completed several NASBLA training
operations. We have updated and
upgraded our training and Response
Operation with all of our divers,
boats and helicopters. We continue
working and training tirelessly with
the United States Coast Guard, Park
District Lifeguards and Chicago
Police Marine Unit to provide the
best safety and security for our city.
We are always proud and willing to
serve our great City. Never hesitate
to call and remember “We are there
when you need us”.
